Website Performance Questions
Website & Business Marketing; Ethical SEO; & Site Maintenance.
What do I do exactly?
Search engine optimisation; SEO training; and website maintenance.
My focus is on improving website performance, both in achieving good search engine listings, and generating improved visitor reaction by industry recommended, ethical, means. I also help owners of business websites to keep their content up-to-date and relevant.
If your business focus is in a specific geographic area or customer group, I can transform your website visitor reaction, usually without making major changes to your layout.
I don't claim to be a designer, however, I have created and upgraded a number of websites which have achieved a high, or vastly improved, search engine listing status and visitor response.

Own Or Manage A Website? Some Questions!!
Elsewhere in these pages I focus on search engine user behaviour and statistics, and one of the gems offered from recent research is that only a tiny percentage of websites are optimised to a 'satisfactory' level for best search engine listings!
Quite simply, websites that have not been optimised rarely make the first three pages of the search engines for anything other than the site, or business name. And sometimes not even that!!
This is not an issue if your website is not in existence to attract customers, or to promote your business or organisation, or to inform, or educate your customers and visitors. However, if that is precisely why your organisation took the time to design and build your website can I ask you to take a look at the following questions:
- How many visitors are viewing your site each month? Not 'hits' - visitors.
- Is this number continally increasing, static, or decreasing?
- What percentage of your monthly numbers are first-time visitors?
- How many visitors leave immediately?
- How do your visitors find your site?
- Which are the most popular 'landing' pages, and why?
- Which pages are your visitors looking at when they visit?
- How long are your visitors staying on your site?
- Which are your most popular, and least popular pages?
- How many visitors take a step towards becoming a customer?
When you know the answer to most of these questions, you can take steps to change or improve the situation, (if needed), and ensure that your website is a relevant marketing and information tool, working alongside whatever else your organisation uses.
In my portfolio of clients I have a business owner who wanted to see an increase in enquiries from the United States and Canada. It took a little while, but we have achieved a marked, continuing rise as required.
Another client was looking for ongoing front page, or high search engine listings nationally for a specific product group. We have achieved it - consistently on page one of Google. In fact the overall impact of the development of his company's pages and ethical search engine marketing and promotion, has lead him to make major savings by reducing his commitment to costly, 'traditional' business promotion methods.
